This is not just our signature; it is the fundamental philosophy of Bad Room Studio. Founded by Luis Felipe Bomfim, our journey in horror game development is driven by the conviction that true horror lies not in what you see, but in what you feel. Specializing in first-person psychological horror experiences, we create worlds where sensory immersion and narrative depth are the true protagonists.
Why 'Bad Room'? Our studio’s name stems from a fundamental unease: the idea that horror does not only dwell in distant castles or parallel dimensions, but in the spaces that should offer us safety. 'Bad Room' symbolizes the dark room of memory, the neglected corner of the house, the room where secrets have been kept for decades. We believe that true terror is a psychological construct; it resides in anticipation, in silence, and in what the mind projects when the light fails.
Our mission is to subvert genre conventions to deliver experiences that linger with the player long after the credits roll. Bad Room Studio seeks deep immersion. We want you to question reality alongside our protagonists. In titles such as Two Sisters, we don’t just deliver an investigative game; we deliver a dive into trauma, the loss of identity, and the consequences of fanaticism. Our vision is to elevate Brazilian independent horror to a standard of global excellence, proving that dense narratives and cutting-edge technology can go hand in hand.
Bad Room Studio is an independent Brazilian studio with no outside investment. This presents us with a huge challenge: creating games in Brazil with a tiny, variable budget. Today, our projects are kept alive through crowdfunding by our most loyal fans. We work day jobs to sustain ourselves, pouring our dreams and creativity into our projects every spare hour we have.
We look to the future with the ambition of those who know that horror is an inexhaustible genre. Our commitment is to continue expanding the horizons of first-person suspense. Bad Room Studio is not just a place where games are made; it is a collective of artists, musicians, and storytellers dedicated to unveiling what is hidden behind the next door.
